TORI AMOS INTERVIEW
LIVE AUDIENCE CALL-INS
MY POST-SHOW BLOG:
(POST AVAILABLE AFTER 4:30 P.M. ET day of live broadcast)
01 June 2009/NYC: TODAY WAS FUN!
I had a blast! I loved hearing from so many of you on my first live "The Ceslie Show" on our Network on BlogTalkRadio with my guest Tori Amos.
Thank you to everyone who called in live. I'm sorry we couldn't get to everyone. I know your time is valuable and please try again tomorrow. During segment two on my show, Candy Spelling will be taking your calls...exciting! The call-in number is: +1 (888) 874-5654 and I'll also be giving away another new Tori Amos CD of her new album "Abnormaly Attracted to Sin" (Universal Republic).
Most of you today made comments about Tori Amos being the perfect first guest on my new show and how smart, interesting, and even more relevant she is now. I agree! As I said to her in the interview, "Tori, you are one of us..." and what I meant is that she is a working mom, traveler, artist, wife, savvy business woman and a feminine girly girl when she chooses. I look forward to interviewing more women who aren't afraid to discuss our roles as women having to be strong and soft; demonstrative and quiet; leaders and listeners; exhausted and on top of our game--simultaneously. It's who we are and how we live. Tori Amos' comments in this interview today really make it clear why she has staying power in the music industry and is so beloved by fans everywhere.
If you missed the live show, you can listen to it on-demand on this page or lift the code for the widget here (click on get player and buttons) and listen anywhere you choose. You'll hear Tori Amos' stories about her daughter Natasha and how much fun they have traveling on the road together; her intimate comments about women and eroticism; about her taking charge in the boardroom; and, I thought it was great fun hearing about how Tori and her husband gave their almost nine year-old daughter Natasha a strict budget to decorate her own personal space while they are on tour. "She's obsessed with CoCo Chanel right now," says Tori, "and her favorite TV show is House...she's not your usual kid." I loved hearing her say she is "ready to wear her high heels when she's 80," and how she secretly went through a phase of wearing Birkenstocks, "but they were the ones with rhinestones."
Today's show was full of secrets and tips shared by a couple of our CESLIE: The Women's Network experts including anti-aging specialist Dr. Fran Gare about the secrets of Vitamin D and why you shouldn't wash with soap within 24 hours of taking the sun; and, culinary expert Divya Gugnani of behindtheburner.com with her scoop she learned about Grapeseed Oil from famous chefs. Mostly, I was thrilled with the favorite drugstore beauty buys for under $10 from our callers including our CD giveaway winner Stephanie whose must-buy is Chapstick (she wears over lipstick) and Fran's Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara by L'Oreal Paris. She swears that people accuse her of wearing false lashes but it's the mascara!
